Before being with Al, Steve was in another band. Then he tryed out for Al and got in the band. He has been with this band for 22 years. Steve Jay is the only member of the group that has travled to 29 countries. he has gone to: Iceland, Belgium, Holland, Luxemboug, England, Scotland, Ireland, Monaco, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Morocco, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Togo, Algeria, Ghana, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Borneo, The Philippines, Mexico, and Canada. Steve was born on January 26, in Detroit Michigan. Steve has a Masters Degree in Music Compostion, from the University of South Florida. Outside of Al, he makes solo albums. Steve is a proud owner of  3 George Foster Peabody Awards. One of his musical influences is Keith Richards. Steve is also in another band called AK & Zuie, he plays bass and guitar, and Pete "Zuie" Gallagher plays drums and percussion.
