JON "BERMUDA" SCHWARTZ

Jon Schwartz was born on August 18 in Chicago, Illinois. He has been playing the drums since he was nine years old. By 1977, he was drumming professionally with a few other bands. In September, 1980, he met Al on the Dr. Demento show. Jon told Al he was a professional drummer, and Al invited him to record Another One Rides The Bus. Knowing his last name is Schwartz, Al nicknamed Jon "Bermuda"- a spoof of "Bermuda Shorts". From then on he was known as Bermuda, Al's Drummer. Al and Bermuda became good friends. Jon always keeps the Official Weird Al Yankovic Website updated. Out of the 23 years he and Al have worked together, he has only missed a concert four times. He missed the concerts because he had a serious case of Bells Paulsy. Bermuda is fine now, and has been playing in all of the concerts. Bermuda has played with other artists, but he claims his favorite is to work with Weird Al Yankovic. He enjoys surfing the web, listening to music- 60's pop, 70's rock, 80's and 90's alternative music, and of course his work with Al. He also enjoys taking day trips with his wife Leslie and two dogs, Fred and Ginger. Bermuda was the first band member to join.
