Before being in Al's band, Jim was in the same band Steve was. Jim is now the guitarrist for "Weird Al" Yankovic Jim has also travled a lot, not as much as Steve, but Jim has been to 8 countries: England, Scotland, Switzerland, Italy, Austrailia, Costa Rica, Mexico, and Hong Kong. Jim was born on December 18 in Toronto Canada. He started playing guitar at the age of 12, after finding his older brothers guitar in the closet. He started playing professionally at the age of 16. Other than playing guitar for Weird Al Yankovic, he is also known for playing the slack key guitar. Outside of "Weird Al's" band, Jim is known as: Jim "Kimo" West Jim is extremely talented, he can play an electric guitar, acoustic, mandoline, banjo, slack key and much more! Outside of working with Al, Jim has made many albums, and composes for TV shows and movies. His solo music is considered to be warm, relaxing hawaiian-style acoustic guitar instrumentals. I have seen Jim live in concert with Al eight times, and he never ceases to amaze me. If you haven't seen Jim West in concert, I highly recommend you do, he is truly amazing.
